Patrick Kwizera
As the chairperson 2016-2020 of the Rwanda Safari Guides Association (RSGA), Patrick is diligent in career tour-guiding and committed to his profession. He joined the association in 2006 after serving for two years as a transport manager in one of the best local tour companies.
With 13 years of experience, he has been so instrumental in helping advance the association of tour guides both men and women to improve their welfare, going professional and advocacy for capacity building in various areas.
Before joining tourism, Patrick served the military as a soldier for 12 years from 1990-2002.
Patrick is a licensed tour guide at silver 1 level, he was born and raised in Kampala Uganda.
Nasasira Peter
Nasasira Peter is an expert guide within Rwanda and Uganda and you can be assured of the best adventure with him. His informative knowledge about Rwanda and Uganda is quite immense and has made him a reliable guide for a tour combining the two countries.
His knowledge for wildlife and his flexible character makes him helpful in case you need to make a few adjustments in your itinerary when you are already in the field.
Moses Kirenzi
Moses Kirenzi is a current board member (2016-to date) and a former president (2010-2014) of the Rwanda Safari Guides Association (RSGA), where he plays a key role in organizing various capacity building activities. A licensed freelance driver and guide by RDB for 14 years, he is a dedicated and highly motivated person with great leadership and communication skills.
He has a passion for, and vast experience, knowledge, and skills in wildlife interpretation and cultural tourism, and has over the years worked and interacted with people with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Born and raised in Uganda, Moses is fluent in Kinyarwanda, English, Swahili, and two other languages.
Karamuka Mussa
Karamuka Mussa went to school at Lifeline 2 and obtained a diploma in hospitality. He speaks four languages: English, French, Kiswahili, and Kinyarwanda-as mother tongue.
Karamuka started working in tourism in 2010, as a member of the Rwanda Safari Guide Association (RSGA). He is well trained by RDB, in birding, Rwandan history, and Guiding. His passion is in tourism and meeting people from different backgrounds and walks of life.
Jean-Marie Tuyambaze
Jean Marie was born and raised in Rwanda/Northern province (near the home of endangered mountain gorillas). Jean Marie’s background as a service supervisor with different safari lodges in Rwanda gave him a chance to meet people of different cultures and learn more about handling international travellers, but safari guiding has always been his passion.
After attending guiding and interpretation courses and with four years of experience in handling numerous safaris in Rwanda and Uganda, Jean Marie has the necessary skills to be an excellent Safari guide in East Africa. He is a certified professional Safari Driver-guide who believes in excellence, who enjoys taking tourists for gorilla trekking, game viewing, bird watching, hiking, and road trips. He says, “Above all, I am eager and flexible to learn more about the world of nature that surrounds us.”
Eric Manzi
Eric Manzi was born in Uganda but grew up in Rwanda. He speaks fluent English and other local languages which gives him the ability to interact with communities well on tourist routes. His passion for guiding has allowed him to enhance his knowledge every day giving the tourist the most of their expectations.
His vast knowledge about the history, culture, birds, wildlife, nature, and conservation of Rwanda and Uganda makes every trip memorable.
He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree at the National University of Rwanda today University in Rwanda (Bachelors of Science in Economic Development and also has several guiding training certificates from the Rwanda Safari Guides Association in wildlife, birding, nature interpretation. He is am a certified First Aider (EMT) and licensed Guide.
Kenneth Kadidi
Kenneth was born in Uganda and raised in Rwanda where he grew up and went to school. He, from an earlier age, was always interested in the hospitality industry and after university worked as a front desk manager at Kigali Serena Hotel.
This was when he realized his passion for being a guide and decided to pursue further studies at the University of Tourism Technology and Business. Right after, he became a part of the Rwanda Safari Guides Association.
Kenneth has now been a guide for 4 years and has rich knowledge in the Rwandan culture and history as well as primates.
He also has a red cross certificate in first aid: in his free time, he offers swimming lessons and talks to schools on the history and culture of Rwanda.
Umwiza Joanita
Umwiza Joanita, or Joana, who was born in Uganda but grew up in Rwanda, is a proud female Driver Guide.
Joana has over five years of experience working in the tourism industry: three of those years, Joana worked as a National Park Community Liason Officer- educating and creating awareness about park protections. The other two years, she has been working as a Driver Guide.
She states, “I am passionate about nature and traveling, which keeps my eyes open and encourages me to contribute to conservation, therefore keeping the world a beautiful place.
Working as a Driver Guide empowers and encourages me. Together with the traveler, I will make every trip memorable!”
